The Tijuca National Park is a preserved area of Mata Atlântica, which is visited by locals and tourists for sports, hiking and leisure. It’s the largest urban national park in South America and it has species from all over the country. Our experience covers the main attractions of the Tijuca Forest: Taunay waterfall and Visitor Center. After visiting the main points, we’ll check another amazing part of this tropical forest, walking to explore some of the hidden attractions: Lage Park and Botanical Garden.
These walks have an easy level of difficulty. During the experience our guides will try to spot birds, insects and small mammals. The most common species are the monkeys (Sagui and Prego), Quatis and Tucanos, as well as many types of birds.
If you’re feeling adventurous, it is optional to end this experience taking a shower in one of the waterfalls of the Park, after doing a short moderate hike.
